I have three paintings that will be part of a group show opening November 5th at the Newmarket Old Town Hall. This show is all about Days of Winter Past.
The thoughts behind this particular painting were remembering the occasional day spent at home when school was canceled due to a blizzard. Coming in the warm and cozy house after shovelling the driveway to a cup of hot chocolate and some cookies, to while away the afternoon playing with some favourite toys & games.
The toys in this painting were ones my husband played with when he was a boy which in turn, were well-loved by our young boys. The drawing is a copy of one my son drew long ago on one of his own snow days after helping his Dad clear the walkway.
