Recently I received the good news that I've been successfully elected to the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA). FCA was founded in 1941 by professional artists including the Group of Seven luminary, Lawren Harris, Arthur Lismer, and A.Y. Jackson as well as renowned artist/writer Emily Carr. The founding members were interested in advancing the importance of art through all regions of Canada.
The FCA is dedicated to raising artistic standards and advancing the knowledge and appreciation of art to the Canadian public. Currently, the Federation is the only national-level visual arts organization that manages their own full-time art gallery. The Federation Gallery is located on Granville Island, in the heart of Vancouver's art and culture community.
I'm very honoured to have been accepted into this wonderful organization!
