This has been a very exciting year of painting. I was involved in lots of exhibitions with incredible artists and a few awards came my way to top things off.
I took part in 15 exhibitions over the last year, including both group and solo shows. A highlight was the Keeping It Real exhibition at the Whitby Station Gallery curated by Olexander Wlasenko. The spotlight of this show was on high realism painting, exploring accurate representations and photographic precision created by the artist’s hand. This exhibition connected the dots between artists throughout the Durham Region (and beyond) who interpret lens-based media through their fine art practice. I was proud to be included amongst these amazing artists: Ian Bodnaryk, Neville Clarke, Shaun Downey, Diane Huson, Catherine Mills, Allan O’Marra and Albert Slark.
